A day at the beach.

And another one crossed off this year's to do list "Visit the beach", it was also Archies first ever trip to the beach which I have been excited and nervous about. I remember Eva's first time there, I was so excited about it and after running down to the sand laying down a towel and popping her toes on the sand, she proceed to scream her head off. It was not a successful trip - although she loves the beach now. Archie's reaction was totally different, he loved feeling the sand between his toes, wiggling them deeper and deeper under the sand, something he found highly amusing. He even had a little paddle in the sea again he loved it!

After a quick paddle in the sea, and getting covered in sandy mud (we were at Westen Super-Mare) Eva got bored and came back to the beach to build lots of sand castles, dig holes and search for shells. We had a fish and chip lunch followed by ice cream before hitting the Pier. I was surprised to find you now have to pay £1 per person to get on to the pier, which concidering how much money they make is a complete rip off in my opinion, but hey ho.

At the end of the beach is a trapped area of sea and beach known as Marine Lake. We had a little walk along here and watched people crabbing before having a look around some of the rock pools. Over all we had a good day. Both the kids loved it! We are planning a weekend away to Westen next summer.. I can't wait.
